Use of this service
CivicHold provides free lookup of state-held unclaimed property records and a claims intake and review process. No fee is ever charged to search, file, verify, or receive an approved disbursement.
Accuracy of information
You agree to provide accurate, truthful information when filing a claim. Submitting false information, impersonating another person, or attempting to claim property that is not rightfully yours may result in denial, referral to the state office holding the property, or other action under applicable law.
No guarantee of outcome
Filing a claim does not guarantee approval. Claims are reviewed under the applicable state's unclaimed-property law and eligibility rules. Decisions are made by desk staff and, where noted, may be appealed within the stated window.
Prohibited conduct
- Submitting sensitive credentials (Social Security number, bank account, card, or wallet details) through this site — these are rejected automatically and are never requested.
- Attempting to access another person's claim without their claim reference.
- Automated scraping or bulk querying of the registry outside normal use.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
